A Day Of Connection: Yours Truly at McHappy Day
McHappy Day is one of those events that reminds you what community really means. People show up, pitch in, and do something good together — and that’s exactly what we love being part of.
This year, the Yours Truly Support Services team joined McHappy Day at Taylors Lakes McDonalds to support Ronald McDonald House Charities, helping raise funds for families who need to stay close to their children during hospital stays. It was a day full of smiles, stories, and connection — and a great chance to share what YTSS is all about.
A Day Of Connection
The team spent the day meeting people from all walks of life — families, volunteers, and local leaders who care about making a difference.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Moira Deeming MP, who stopped by to chat about our mission and the importance of inclusive, person-centred disability support across Victoria. It was encouraging to see genuine interest in how local providers like YTSS are helping people live independently, confidently, and with the right support around them.
Events like this are a great reminder that even small conversations can plant the seeds for bigger change.
Why We Get Involved
At YTSS, community isn’t something that happens outside of our work — it is our work. Being part of McHappy Day felt like a natural extension of what we do every day: helping people feel seen, supported, and connected.
Supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities made perfect sense to us. They’re there for families when life becomes unpredictable — providing comfort, stability, and care when it’s needed most. Those same values guide our approach with the people we support.
Looking Ahead
A huge thank you to everyone who made the day special — the McDonald’s teams, Football Star Academy, Cama KO Boxing and Fitness, the volunteers, families, and everyone who took the time to stop by and chat. Your energy and generosity make a real difference for families doing it tough.
We left McHappy Day feeling inspired and grateful — and more determined than ever to keep showing up, lending a hand, and celebrating the good that happens when communities work together.
